ALL HANDS ON DECK! CITY HALL ACTION THIS WEDNESDAY Dear Sisters and Brothers, It's come to this: We need as many people as possible to rally in front of City Hall this upcoming Wednesday morning. Last week 35 of you flooded City Council Chambers, joining hundreds more. Now we need more of you. A whole bunch more of you. The Librarians' Guild in conjunction with the Coalition of LA City Unions has been fighting the Mayor and the CAO for a good, fair contract for 5 months. The Mayor and CAO are offering cost of living increases that do not keep up with the cost of living! They're demanding that all workers pay $160 a month for our Health care. That's almost $2,000 a year that workers would shell out (regardless of your position)! They're offering us "deals" that sell out future librarians and Administrative Clerks and throw smaller unions under the bus! This is unacceptable to me. I hope it is unacceptable to you. When I stand at the speaking podium on Wednesday to address the crowd, I really, really want to hear the loudest group of librarians and Administrative Clerks and MCs yelling in support of a good, fair contract. Please join me, Henry Gambill President Librarians' Guild When: Wednesday, October 10, 2018 from 9:00 - 11:00 Where: In front of City Hall 200 N. Spring St. Los Angeles, 90012) If you are a member of the Librarians' Guild working Wednesday morning, ask your supervisor for LW (Leave with Permission) from 9-12 (plus travel time). The Guild will be paying for lost time, mileage and parking for all members of the Librarians Guild. Direct your questions about this to Kian at [email protected]. RSVP HERE
